General Driving Directions to Camp Anne:

  • Take Interstate 87 North, (a thruway, also known as the John Dewey Highway).
  • Exit to Interstate 287 East, (pass the exits for White Plains).
  • Exit to Interstate 684 North and continue driving, (approximately 30 minutes,) until the interstate ends in the Danbury/Brewster area.  From here, you will see signs for Route 22 North.  Take Route 22 North, and continue for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.  (If traffic is heavy, it might take longer.)
  • Pass through the towns of Patterson, Pawling, Dover Plains, Amenia, and Millerton.
  • After Millerton, continue to follow Route 22 North for approximately 15 minutes, then be on the lookout for Route 7A, which will be on your left-hand side.  Follow Route 7A to the town of Copake.
  • In the town of Copake, you will arrive at a fork in the road, where you will see the town clock in the center of the fork.  Turn to the left at the fork onto Route 7.   (You will drive past gas station).
  • Drive 2 miles on Route 7 until you pass Oleana Campground and Camp Pontiac on left.  After passing both camps, drive 1/2 mile and look for Four Corners Road on left-hand side of the road.  Turn left onto Four Corners Road and look for the entrance to the camp on the left.

Alternate route from New York City

scenic route, for non-commercial vehicles, with few rest stops or service stations

  • Enter Sprain Parkway, north of New York City.
  • Sprain Parkway becomes Taconic Parkway.
  • Continue on Taconic Parkway for over an hour, (passing Interstate84, Millbrook, and Rhinebeck exits).
  • Exit to Route 82 East, and follow this route for approximately 15 minutes, when you will arrive in the small town of Ancram.
  • At the flashing light, make a very sharp left onto Route 7.
  • Continue on Route 7 for 2 miles.  You will see Four Corners Road on the right-hand side of the road.  Turn right onto Four Corners Road and look for the entrance to the camp on the left.
