An innovative summer resort for adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities.

The Lodge

The Katy Isaacson and Elaine Gordon Lodge is an alternative to traditional summer recreation programs for adults and teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In a non-restrictive, yet supervised environment, guests are treated with respect, making their own decisions on how to spend their time. They are offered the opportunity to relax and enjoy a true vacation at a summer resort.

The Lodge is the only program of its kind in New York State.

It offers five, eleven-day vacations, including one session for young adults, (ages 18 to 29) and one session for teens, (ages 13 to 17). Chartered bus transportation is available at no extra cost to each participant. Each session accommodates up to 70 guests, and the guest to staff ratio is three to one, sufficient to assure personal attention to each participant.

Whether you are a new or returning guest, The Lodge is a unique place to grow and experience the most amazing summer of your life. The surrounding mountains, private lake, and natural splendor create the perfect atmosphere.

Swimming

Swimming is our most popular activity at camp. Swimming is offered every day and our heated pool is safely guarded with American Red Cross trained lifeguards at all times. Activities in the pool include swimming lessons by our in-house WSI (Water Safety Instructor), water sports, polo and more.

Boating

Pontoon boat rides on Lake Capra to enjoy the beauty of the Catskill mountain scenery. Relax and enjoy as the Lifeguards take you on a tour of the magical lake. We also have pedal boats and remote-controlled speed boats to enjoy at the lakefront.

Dance

Kick your legs and enjoy lessons by our experienced dance instructors including hip hop, salsa, contemporary and many more. Lessons are led by our staff and are easy to follow for all levels and abilities.

Creative Arts

Bring the essence of a Broadway show to your vacation. Sign up to take advantage of our wonderful drama staff to recreate a show of our guests choice. The show is performed on the last day of session for all other guests and staff. Learn lines, dances, create backdrops and help with costumes as the magic of a Broadway show comes live to Upstate New York.

Music

Feel the rhythm and connect to your musical vibe during music class. Our classes, led by music enthusiasts are fun-filled, loud and exciting. Using a variety of instruments and techniques, music class at The Lodge is sure to leave you pumped and tapping to the beat.

Sports

Enjoy the outdoors and get moving during our sports sessions. We offer many sporting activities including basketball, baseball, volleyball, races, Olympic days and much more. All sports are adapted to each guest to ensure maximum participation and total inclusion.

Pony Rides

Our resident ponies are available for grooming and pony rides. With our onsite skilled equestrian staff, guests have the opportunity to ride our ponies around a paddock and learn about how to groom and take care of them.

Evening Activities

Geared towards socialization, evening activities at The Lodge can vary from Games Night, Themed Dances, Shows, Barn Dances, Carnival, Fashion Shows, Talent Shows and many more. It’s the last activity of the day where the whole camp comes together until the stars come out.
